Prior to the release of Doom in 2016, many gamers were rightly concerned about whether id Software would be able to live up to their former reputation as FPS masters after many years of development and the departure of some key figures, and continue the legend that has become synonymous with the genre for many years. After all, although I personally liked Rage, who was five years older, he didn't make a big dent in the world. Doom Eternal is already entering the market as a [censored] favorite and one of the most anticipated games of the year. The sequel is in most ways bigger, more complex, richer and more varied than its predecessor. Even though the game has lost some of its original straightforwardness and classic concept in some places, the benefits of this evolution fortunately outweigh the minor flaws.
Doom Eternal is currently available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. The Switch version will be released later, just like the previous installment. The game is powered for the first time by the new generation id Tech 7 engine, which will undoubtedly appear in other titles from id Software and Bethesda in time. As last time, in addition to the story campaign, we can also look forward to multiplayer, but this time it does not take the form of a classic deathmatch, but instead the developers bet on a novelty in the form of an asymmetric online Battlemode. But we'll get to that later. The backbone of the game remains the traditional single, which follows the familiar concept of the previous part, but the authors expanded the gameplay and added an incredible number of new elements.
