Classic strong brands such as Total War and Civilization are trying to maintain their position on the market, but at the same time many new developers have been lured in, thanks to which we can enjoy titles such as Frostpunk, Ancestors Legacy or Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden. The genre of building strategies has greatly revived, which has become so attractive that it has brought back a few old familiar brands to the game. Recently, thanks to this, we were able to play Tropico 6, and ANNO is also making a comeback.
A picturesque past
In the case of ANNO, we are definitely talking about a comeback, but the series has not been on the ice for that long. The previous ANNO 2205 was released in 2015. Still, a four-year hiatus is not enough, and the series had to come back with something proper. The developers decided to choose the year 1800, and it's not a bad choice. At that time, colonialism was in full swing and the industrial revolution was about to fall - after all, the 19th century is known as the century of steam. The overall stylization of the play fulfills the idyllic idea from the novel by Jane Austen.
